Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered perioperative nursing care for pediatric surgical patients
• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments and ensure instrument readiness
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members for smooth case flow
• Assess patients pre- and post-operatively and communicate changes in condition promptly
• Advocate for pediatric patients and families, delivering compassionate education and support
• Document accurately and timely in the medical record to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Ohio or compact license as applicable)
• Experience in Operating Room nursing with pediatric populations preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) a plus
• Strong aseptic technique and familiarity with surgical instrumentation and case setup
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings and facility orientation
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to team-based care

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing standards and sterile technique
• Skill in pediatric patient assessment and age-appropriate communication
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR workflows
• Ability to prioritize and respond quickly in fast-paced surgical settings
• Competence with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Strong teamwork and situational awareness in the operating room
