Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients in the operating room
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to coordinate procedures and patient flow
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment, instruments, and supplies for surgical cases
• Monitor patients throughout the perioperative period and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Educate families and caregivers about perioperative care and post-operative expectations
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in accordance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio (required)
• Prior experience in Operating Room nursing and caring for pediatric patients (preferred)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) highly preferred
• Familiarity with sterile technique, perioperative standards, and surgical instrumentation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing processes and patient safety protocols
• Skillful in pediatric patient assessment and family-centered care
• Proficiency with surgical instrumentation, sterilization, and OR workflow
• Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and prioritize tasks in fast-paced settings
• Competence in electronic health record documentation and charting
