Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate perioperative nursing care for pediatric patients in the operating room
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure seamless, high-quality care
• Prepare the operating room and maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures
• Perform pre-operative assessments and communicate critical information to families and the care team
• Monitor patients intraoperatively and contribute to post-op handoffs and recovery planning
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training to support exceptional pediatric surgical outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Ohio or eligibility via Nurse Licensure Compact
• Experience or interest in Operating Room nursing with pediatric patients (OR and pediatrics experience preferred)
• Current BLS certification required; PALS or other pediatric certifications preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborating on interdisciplinary teams
• Willingness to complete facility orientation and required trainings
• Ability to pass standard background checks and credentialing processes

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique
• Familiarity with pediatric anatomy, physiology, and family-centered communication
• Ability to prioritize, anticipate needs, and support a fast-moving surgical schedule
• Skilled in intraoperative monitoring, instrumentation basics, and safe patient handling
• Clear, compassionate communication skills with colleagues and families
• Solid documentation skills and comfort using electronic medical records
