Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients with MST-related needs
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly in the medical record
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Educate patients and families about care plans, resources, and follow-up needs
• Advocate for patient comfort, safety, and dignity throughout care encounters
• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate critical information to incoming staff

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be valid in the state of practice)
• Experience or familiarity with MST (Military Sexual Trauma) patients or trauma-informed care is highly valued
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS/PNC as applicable encouraged
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient advocacy skills
• Professional communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to work independently during per diem shifts and adapt to variable clinical settings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RN license required
• BSN preferred but not strictly required for per diem consideration

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, medication administration, and IV therapy as needed
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and sensitivity to MST-related issues
• Proficient with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with patients and families
• Strong prioritization and time-management skills in fast-paced clinical environments
