Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality care
• Educate patients and families on condition management and discharge planning
• Document patient status and care interventions clearly in the EHR
• Monitor patient progress and escalate changes in condition appropriately
• Participate in unit orientation and training to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Missouri (MO) required or compact RN with ability to meet facility requirements
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing with pediatric exposure or pediatric Med/Surg experience
• Current BLS certification required; PALS or ACLS strongly preferred or obtainable
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and triage with pediatric considerations
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
• Infection control and safety protocols
• Clinical documentation and care coordination
• Family-centered care and patient education techniques
• Time management and prioritization in a med/surg setting
• Team collaboration and effective communication with caregivers
