Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to medical-surgical and pediatric patients
Assess, monitor and document patient condition and communicate changes to the care team
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute individualized care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
Participate in orientation activities and support new staff or travelers as needed
Maintain accurate electronic charting and adhere to facility policies and quality standards

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or compact license where applicable
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ACLS preferred depending on unit needs
Clinical experience or training in medical-surgical nursing and pediatric care a strong asset
Strong communication, critical thinking and time-management skills
Ability to participate in scheduled orientation and work collaboratively on a team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Medical-surgical nursing principles and pediatric care best practices
Patient assessment, medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
Excellent patient and family education skills
Teamwork, adaptability and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
