Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg pediatric unit
• Perform timely assessments, develop care plans, and implement interventions that make a real difference
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following policy and best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate excellent care
• Educate patients and families with clarity and empathy so they feel empowered
• Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
• Participate in orientation and unit-based learning to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact license with ability to practice in MA where applicable)
• Current BLS certification required; PALS and ACLS highly recommended for pediatric Med/Surg care
• Experience or strong interest in Medical-Surgical nursing with pediatric patient population
• Comfortable performing bedside assessments, IV therapy, and medication administration
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to complete required orientation prior to assuming independent shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles with pediatric focus
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV pumps, and common pediatric procedures
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management skills
• Patient and family education techniques delivered with compassion and clarity
