Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 5-hour shifts; specific start/end times and scheduled days to be confirmed with the hiring team (orientation required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver safe, compassionate med/surg nursing care for pediatric patients
Assess and monitor patient status, recognizing changes and escalating appropriately
Administer medications and treatments accurately, following facility protocols
Document patient care thoroughly and clearly in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to create and follow individualized care plans
Participate in orientation and contribute to a positive learning environment for new staff

Qualifications

Current, active RN license in Washington (or eligibility to obtain)
Experience in med/surg nursing and working with pediatric patients
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS or pediatric certification preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient- and family-centered approach

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of pediatric med/surg nursing principles and safe medication administration
Proficiency with patient assessment, IV therapy and wound care
Comfortable using electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond calmly in changing clinical situations
Collaborative approach to working with interdisciplinary teams and families
