Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg and pediatric patients
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document responses
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to coordinate effective care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care
• Participate actively in orientation and unit-specific training to ensure best practices
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential — California licensure preferred or eligible
• Clinical experience or comfort working in Med/Surg and pediatric settings
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; other certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and pediatric care considerations
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Good documentation skills with electronic health records (EHR)
• Strong patient/family education and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in urgent situations
