Shift Type: 5-hour shifts (exact start/end times to be scheduled), orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the med/surg pediatric unit
Perform focused assessments and document patient progress accurately in the chart
Administer medications and treatments safely following hospital protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute care plans
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
Participate in orientation and unit training to maintain competency and best practices

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact RN with CA authorization
Experience in medical-surgical nursing and caring for pediatric patients
Current BLS required; PALS may be preferred for pediatric-focused units
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first attitude
Completion of required orientation prior to independent assignment

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of med/surg nursing principles and pediatric care
Skilled in patient assessment, medication administration, and care planning
Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in fast-paced situations
Collaborative approach to working with physicians, therapists, and support staff
