Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, age-appropriate nursing care to med/surg pediatric patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
Document patient information clearly and timely in the medical record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition quickly and effectively

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (or compact RN able to practice in MA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Pediatric experience and med/surg background preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Willingness to participate in orientation and unit onboarding

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of pediatric med/surg nursing principles
Medication administration and IV therapy skills
Patient assessment, vital signs, and early recognition of deterioration
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Family-centered care and patient education techniques
