Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg patients
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and according to policy
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members for smooth transitions
Document clinical findings, interventions and patient responses accurately
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and experience

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Hawaii licensure expected or ability to obtain)
Med/Surg clinical experience preferred
Current BLS certification required; ACLS or specialty certifications a plus
Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and adapt to unit needs

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of Med/Surg nursing principles and best practices
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Patient assessment, monitoring and early recognition of deterioration
Good time management, prioritization and delegation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
