Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to med-surg and telemetry patients during night shifts
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alarms and changes in condition
• Perform nursing assessments, develop and implement care plans, and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions according to protocol and scope of practice
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning to support safe transitions
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required clinical skills checklists

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Iowa) required - License/Certificate Verification will be performed
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated competence in med-surg nursing and telemetry monitoring
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist prior to start

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Clinical assessment and critical thinking in med-surg patient care
• Proficiency with ACLS/BLS protocols and emergency response
• Familiarity with specialty competency testing and checklist-driven skills validation
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
