Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, patient-centered critical care for adults in the ICU with compassion and clinical precision
• Continuously assess, monitor and document patient status, including vital signs and response to interventions
• Administer medications and manage complex therapies safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Operate and troubleshoot ICU equipment and support advanced life support measures when needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and recovery plans in a clear, caring way
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama (or compact license as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Critical care experience preferred; ICU experience is a strong plus
• Comfort with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and common ICU therapies
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of critical care assessment and prioritization
• Ability to manage complex IV medications, drips and titratable therapies
• Familiarity with ventilator settings and respiratory support modalities
• Proficient documentation skills and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Calm decision-making under pressure and excellent situational awareness
