Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients, prioritizing safety and outcomes
• Perform ongoing patient assessments, interpret monitoring data, and adjust care plans accordingly
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced life support equipment when indicated
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans with clear, empathetic communication
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Champion patient safety and infection control practices to maintain the highest standards of care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or multistate compact RN licensure
• ICU clinical experience (experience in critical care preferred)
• Current BLS certification; ACLS certification required or must obtain per facility policy
• Demonstrated ability to manage critical patients, titrate vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies
• Strong teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention skills
• Familiarity with ventilator management and advanced cardiac life support
• Proficiency with IV medication administration, hemodynamic monitoring, and alarms management
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced ICU environment
