Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and ventilator settings to guide care
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies safely and accurately
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate clinical records
• Contribute to unit quality improvement efforts and infection prevention initiatives
• Mentor and support less-experienced nursing staff and help foster a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Louisiana or eligibility under the nursing licensure compact
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required or obtained per facility policy
• Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and handle high-acuity situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Intravenous medication administration and infusion pump use
• Familiarity with common ICU equipment and patient monitoring systems
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and bedside handoff practices
