Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients using age-specific data to create individualized care plans
• Perform ongoing clinical assessments and document findings within organizational standards
• Conduct physical examinations and review laboratory/test results to inform care
• Evaluate patient responses to procedures and adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Provide patient teaching and discharge planning to support recovery and transitions
• Assist and collaborate with other staff members to deliver high-quality patient care
• Use Cerner EMR effectively for accurate, timely documentation

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (Nursys) required and must be active
• Minimum 2+ years of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience required
• Current AHA BLS required (documented)
• AHA ACLS required and must be obtained within 30 days of start (documented)
• Completed skills checklist (current to 1 year) specific to ICU required
• Two supervisory reference forms with dates employed required
• Work history and other profile documentation required prior to start
• Applicants within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible; facility requires permanent address outside that radius
• Applicants who were direct employees within the last 2 years may be ineligible per facility policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and advanced patient assessment
• Accurate documentation and use of Cerner EMR
• Observation, physical examination, and interpretation of lab/test results
• Evaluation of patient response to interventions and procedures
• Multidisciplinary care planning and teamwork
• Patient teaching and discharge planning skills
• ACLS and BLS clinical competency
