Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients
• Continuously monitor patient status and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Manage ventilators, infusion pumps and other ICU-specific equipment with confidence
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams
• Document assessments, interventions and care plans accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about care plans and support informed decision-making
• Follow unit policies, infection control practices and safety protocols to protect patients

Qualifications

• Current RN license required; must meet state requirements for practice
• Minimum 2+ years ICU nursing experience (critical care background required)
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills in high-acuity settings
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred or required depending on facility policy
• Comfortable with ICU technology and charting in electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for dynamic ICU environments

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced cardiac and hemodynamic assessment
• Mechanical ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Medication titration for vasoactive and sedative agents
• Arterial line, central line and invasive monitoring familiarity
• Infection prevention, sepsis recognition and rapid response participation
• Strong clinical prioritization and time management under pressure
