Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients in the emergency department quickly and compassionately
• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to stabilize and treat acute conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Monitor patient status, interpret data, and escalate concerns promptly
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record system
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain a safe, efficient ED environment and support throughput during busy periods

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire or compact RN license as applicable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required per facility
• Prior experience in Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and triage skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing and onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing protocols and triage systems
• Acute care assessment and critical care basics
• IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
• Effective documentation and electronic medical record familiarity
• De-escalation techniques and safe patient handling
• Teamwork, adaptability, and situational awareness in high-acuity settings
