Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients promptly, prioritizing care in a fast-paced emergency setting
• Provide direct patient care including IV therapy, medication administration, and wound care
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated, high-quality care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up care
• Respond to emergency codes and participate in critical care interventions as needed
• Maintain equipment readiness and adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligibility for Hawaii RN license preferred
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Prior Emergency Department/ED experience preferred (1+ year ideal)
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment expertise
• IV placement, medication administration, and basic procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Strong communication and teamwork skills under pressure
• Knowledge of trauma protocols, sepsis recognition, and acute care management
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks efficiently
