Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shift (times vary); position is predominately day but requires flexibility to work mid shifts and take Open Heart call as required

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR for cardiac open-heart procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to deliver excellent clinical outcomes
Respond to Open Heart call and support urgent operative needs as required
Maintain sterile technique, safety protocols, and accurate operative documentation
Engage in professional development and participate in the Clinical Ladder to advance practice

Qualifications

Current RN licensure (required)
Minimum 3 years Operating Room experience (required)
Cardiac Open-Heart experience required
BSN preferred; candidates without BSN may be considered with commitment to obtain within 3 years
Willingness to work primarily day shifts with flexibility for mid shifts and on-call duties

Education

BSN preferred; or equivalent nursing degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 3 years

Knowledge & Skills

Strong CVOR and cardiac open-heart surgical nursing skills
Perioperative nursing expertise and strict sterile technique
Ability to function effectively in high-acuity surgical teams
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient-centered care
