Roles & Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations with care and precision
Position patients and imaging equipment correctly to capture clinically useful images
Ensure patient safety through proper radiation protection and infection control practices
Collaborate closely with radiologists and care teams to support accurate diagnoses
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, escalating issues to biomedical teams
Accurately document procedures, maintain PACS image integrity, and manage patient records

Qualifications

ARRT certification in Radiography (or registry-eligible) preferred
Active Louisiana radiologic technologist license or ability to obtain state licensure
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
Strong patient care skills and professional communication with interdisciplinary teams
Comfortable working with PACS and digital imaging workflows

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (Associate’s degree or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough knowledge of radiographic positioning and anatomy
Proficiency with digital imaging systems / PACS and basic image post-processing
Understanding of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
Ability to prioritize workload in a busy imaging department
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients of all ages
