Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for mental health and substance use disorders
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy consistent with best practices
• Collaborate with correctional facility staff and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document clinical progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries accurately and on time
• Deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care and crisis intervention when needed
• Participate in orientation, training, and case consultation to support quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) (active or eligible)
• Experience or training in substance abuse treatment and mental health interventions
• Current, valid license to practice in California or eligibility to obtain one
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
• Ability to work effectively within a correctional/substance abuse treatment setting
• Reliable professional references and completion of required facility onboarding

Education

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field (required for licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Substance abuse treatment approaches and relapse prevention strategies
• Evidence-based therapy modalities (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing)
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Behavioral health documentation and electronic medical records
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills
• Understanding of confidentiality, ethics, and facility safety protocols
