Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to progressive care patients from admission through discharge
• Assess and monitor hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable patients using telemetry and EKG interpretation
• Manage advanced lines and devices including arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, NG tubes, and multiple IVs
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced equipment and multiple IV pumps for medication administration
• Deliver ventilatory support care for patients requiring invasive or noninvasive respiratory assistance
• Administer and titrate critical IV medications per scope (e.g., heparin, diltiazem, inotropes) with precise documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
• Act as a clinical leader on the unit and assist with precepting and mentoring newer staff

Qualifications

• Current State of Montana RN licensure required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (PALS or equivalent may be obtained within 6 months as noted)
• Experience and comfort with telemetry, EKG interpretation, and progressive/intermediate critical care
• Skills in managing arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, NG care, continuous bladder irrigation, and multiple IVs
• Ability to manage common IV medications used in progressive care and titrate per protocol
• Clinical leadership or precepting experience preferred
• EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
• Pediatric experience and post-heart catheterization care experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and basic cardiac monitoring expertise with EKG interpretation skills
• Proficiency with invasive and noninvasive ventilatory support
• Competence operating multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking in progressive care settings
• Medication management and titration of hemodynamic support agents
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and lead small teams of bedside staff
