Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and approve medication orders accurately using Meditech and Dose Edge
• Perform medication verification and ensure timely medication delivery via Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Provide vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Compound sterile IVs and supervise sterile compounding processes
• Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis checks and first dose validation
• Support pain consults and clinical pharmacy activities across inpatient units
• Maintain compliance with unit guidelines, safety standards and documentation

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited pharmacy school (required)
• Licensed Pharmacist eligible to practice in Missouri (MO) (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience (hospital/inpatient preferred)
• Experience with sterile compounding and Dose Edge, Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar EMR systems
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NICU experience a plus
• Strong communication and supervisory experience working with pharmacy techs

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Inpatient pharmacy workflows and medication distribution systems
• Medication verification best practices and safety checks
• Clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Sterile compounding procedures and USP standards
• Pharmacy automation platforms: Dose Edge, Pyxis and Pak Edge
• Electronic medical record usage (Meditech) and documentation
