Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and screen patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders using standardized assessments
• Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based plans of care that meet regulatory and clinical standards
• Deliver rehabilitative, skilled, medically necessary OT interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities and use of assistive devices
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatments, and evaluate outcomes to ensure clinical effectiveness
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information accurately in the electronic documentation system
• Counsel patients, families, and caregivers and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to remove barriers to progress
• Provide comprehensive discharge summaries and make appropriate referrals based on outcomes
• Supervise and support occupational therapy assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students when needed

Qualifications

• Active OT license (Missouri; compact allowed) — state licensure required
• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience (required)
• Experience in long-term care (LTC) or rehab settings (required)
• Familiarity with NBCOT/AOTA standards and state practice acts; commitment to ethical practice
• Experience with electronic documentation/EHR and accurate treatment minute recording
• Ability to obtain necessary DME and supplies per clinical requirements
• Comfort supervising OT assistants and supporting students or aides
• Knowledge of Medicare A/B and managed care expectations preferred
