Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Perform thorough patient assessments for pediatric and adult patients pre- and post-operatively
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and interventions to achieve patient outcomes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate effective patient care
• Provide direct patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning
• Serve as a clinical leader on shift and assist with precepting new staff
• Delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs, CNAs, and support staff while ensuring safe patient care
• Follow established policies and procedures with minimal supervision and maintain professional standards

Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required (state-specific licensure or eligibility)
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing with comfort managing 5:1 patient-to-staff ratios
• Experience providing care for pediatric and adult patients, including perioperative care
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and precepting experience
• Ability to follow policies and perform independently while collaborating with the care team

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong command of the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Skilled in patient assessment and direct patient care across age groups
• Experience with care planning, implementation, and discharge planning
• Perioperative care knowledge and comfort caring for pre- and post-surgical patients
• Clinical leadership, delegation, and precepting abilities
• Familiarity with ambulatory and hospital-based workflows
