Medical Assistant - Ambulatory

Location: Spokane, WA

Start Date: 05-13-2026

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Ambulatory (MA - AMB), 5-hour shifts; exact start/end times and days to be confirmed (orientation required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional first impression
Obtain and document vitals and patient histories accurately
Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during ambulatory visits
Perform routine clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and EKGs as trained
Manage patient flow and ensure timely rooming and check-out
Document encounters thoroughly in the electronic health record
Maintain infection control and clinic supply standards

Qualifications

Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited MA program preferred
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
Comfortable with phlebotomy and basic clinical procedures (preferred)
Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
Previous ambulatory or outpatient clinic experience is a plus
Valid ability to work in Washington state (as required)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical Assistant certification or graduation from an accredited MA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation best practices
Basic clinical assessment skills and vital signs proficiency
Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask in a busy ambulatory setting and stay calm under pressure
