Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and direct hospital staff in policy interpretation and day-to-day decisions to keep patient care running smoothly.
Manage patient flow and bed assignments to optimize throughput and ensure timely, safe care.
Provide clinical supervision, make administrative decisions in collaboration with clinical leaders and the CNO.
Organize staff workflow, delegate duties, and ensure team members understand assigned tasks.
Monitor employee productivity, deliver constructive feedback, coach staff, and support professional development.
Collaborate closely with charge nurses, resource nurses, and non-clinical support staff during busy periods.
Respond to patient and family complaints or concerns with empathy and effective resolution.
Initiate and develop special projects aimed at improving patient flow, staffing efficiency, and care quality.

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Montana (required).
Degree from a Nursing Program.
Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a hospital setting; recent ICU experience preferred.
CPR required; ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated experience with ventilator-supported patients, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps.
Strong leadership, critical thinking, communication, and customer-service orientation.

Education

Degree from a Nursing Program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Clinical supervision and nursing leadership
Patient flow management and resource allocation
Staff workflow organization and charge nurse collaboration
Experience across the lifespan: infancy to geriatrics
Post-operative care and cardiac monitoring
Ability to operate advanced medical equipment (ventilators, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes)
Use of multiple IV pumps and basic office equipment
Problem solving, coaching, feedback, and teamwork
