Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
• Support safe mobility and transfers following facility protocols
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent state credential
• CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Demonstrated compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
• Comfortable working as part of a fast-paced care team and following direction from licensed nurses

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or equivalent state-approved training

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic knowledge of geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Infection control and hand hygiene best practices
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Familiarity with documentation and basic charting
• Strong observational skills and ability to notice changes in condition
• Teamwork, time management, and reliable attendance
