Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to Med-Surg patients on a 14-bed unit
• Assess patient condition and respond quickly to changes in status
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and coordinate treatments safely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and execute patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures and discharge plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately and promptly
• Support unit throughput by coordinating admissions, discharges and transfers efficiently

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of practice or compact license preferred)
• Minimum Med-Surg clinical experience preferred (prior Med-Surg unit work is a plus)
• BLS required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged where applicable
• Comfortable with a 1:5 patient ratio on a busy 14-bed Med-Surg unit
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
• Skilled at patient/family education and discharge planning
