Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary care to patients across the lifespan, from newborns to geriatrics, following adopted clinical protocols.
• Perform thorough patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop clear, evidence-based treatment plans.
• Initiate and adjust treatments within scope of practice while consulting and collaborating with supervising physicians.
• Educate patients and families on preventive care, chronic disease management, and healthy lifestyle choices to improve outcomes.
• Document clinical encounters accurately and timely in the medical record and ensure compliance with clinic policies and regulations.
• Participate in clinic quality improvement efforts and support a team-based approach to patient-centered care.
• Cover scheduled every-other-Saturday shifts as part of the rotation to support clinic access and continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Current California Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner license (Board of Registered Nursing) required.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program that meets California standards.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS certification required if applying for inpatient privileges.
• Primary care or family practice clinic experience required.
• Strongly preferred: English/Spanish bilingual to support a diverse patient population.

Education

• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (meets Board of Registered Nursing standards)

Knowledge & Skills

• Primary care and family practice clinical skills for all ages (newborn to geriatric)
• Proficient in patient assessment and treatment planning using clinic clinical protocols
• Experience with routine diagnostics, chronic disease management, and preventive health
• Ability to collaborate with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable documenting care clearly and following regulatory and quality standards
• BLS (required) and ACLS (if inpatient) competency
