Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Implement individualized treatment plans and document patient progress clearly and timely
• Assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety, and fall prevention
• Maintain equipment, follow infection control procedures, and ensure a safe treatment environment

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted PTA license in the state of Massachusetts or eligible to obtain licensure quickly
• Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfortable working with a diverse adult rehab population; prior inpatient or skilled nursing experience is a plus
• Strong documentation skills and proficiency with electronic medical records
• Reliable, professional, and able to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams

Education

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modalities, and mobility techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, safety transfers, and fall prevention strategies
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time efficiently
• Familiarity with documentation standards and rehab outcome measurement
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced rehab/skilled nursing environment
