Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Support meal service and assist with feeding when needed
• Observe, document, and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized care plans
• Engage residents in meaningful conversation and encourage social interaction

Qualifications

• GNA certification (Class: GNA) required
• Valid state nursing assistant/GNA credential as applicable
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans, document accurately, and work as part of a team
• CPR/BLS certification preferred

Education

• GNA certification (Class: GNA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe resident transfers, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
• Comfortable with personal care tasks and respectful of resident privacy
• Good observational skills for noticing changes in condition
• Reliable documentation and time-management skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and conflict-resolution skills
