Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders using evidence-based tools and clinical judgment
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set measurable goals and drive meaningful outcomes
• Deliver engaging, patient-centered therapy sessions across the continuum of care
• Collaborate closely with nurses, therapists, and family members to coordinate holistic care
• Document progress thoroughly in the electronic health record and communicate updates to the care team
• Provide education and training to patients and caregivers to support functional carryover
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Active or eligible for Maryland licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or working toward certification
• Experience in adult rehabilitation, acute care, or similar settings is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills, with solid documentation habits
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in dysphagia evaluation and safe swallowing interventions
• Experience with language, cognition, and articulation therapy across adult populations
• Familiarity with standardized and criterion-referenced assessment tools
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and team communication
• Ability to adapt therapy to individual patient needs and family contexts
• Strong time management and caseload prioritization abilities
