Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough occupational therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve patient function and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs and physicians to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document progress, outcomes and discharge plans clearly and timely
• Train patients and caregivers on adaptive equipment, safety strategies and home programs
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts
• Provide compassionate care that respects patient goals and cultural preferences

Qualifications

• Current, active Occupational Therapy license in California (required)
• NBCOT certification or equivalent preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred
• Experience in post-acute, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills and ability to work with diverse populations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; dependable and professional

Education

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OT) preferred
• Entry-level OT degrees with required licensure accepted

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessments and treatment planning
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics and durable medical equipment recommendations
• Proficient with clinical documentation and electronic medical records
• Ability to perform functional mobility and transfer training
• Strong patient education and caregiver training skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rehab-focused environment

This is a travel contract in sunny Santa Barbara.
