Shift Type: Monday-Friday schedule, working three 12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM); Day shift. Call required (approximately 48-56 hours per 6-week schedule, typically breaks down to ~6-7 eight-hour call shifts per 6 weeks).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Circulate for a wide variety of surgical cases (ENT, General Surgery, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, OB/GYN, Ortho, Plastics, pre-op and post-op) to ensure safe, efficient room flow
• Scrub confidently for vascular procedures when indicated and support the scrub team to maintain sterile technique
• Use EPIC for accurate perioperative documentation and charting (EPIC experience is a hard requirement)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to anticipate needs and optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in call rotation and be prepared to respond and provide high-quality care during call shifts
• Provide patient-centered care across adolescent, adult and geriatric populations in both inpatient and ambulatory/outpatient settings
• Support unit quality initiatives, adhere to hospital policies, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Mentor and support colleagues, sharing perioperative knowledge and best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience (perioperative experience required)
• Must have OR experience in Orthopedics and Spine (explicit requirement)
• EPIC experience required (EPIC is a hardstop — candidates without EPIC experience will be redirected)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Proven ability to circulate across multiple specialties (ENT, General Surgery, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, OB/GYN, Ortho, Plastics)
• Ability to scrub vascular procedures (Scrub: Vascular) — proficiency in scrubbing is preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome (1st time travelers allowed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong proficiency with EPIC charting and perioperative documentation
• Excellent circulating skills across general OR and specialty cases
• Scrub competency for vascular surgery procedures
• Solid understanding of perioperative sterile technique and OR protocols
• Ability to manage fast-paced surgical workflows and adapt to varying case mixes (40% inpatient / 60% ambulatory)
• Comfort working call shifts and collaborating in interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with perioperative care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
