Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in patient condition accurately
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and ambulation while using proper body mechanics
• Support nursing staff with treatments and follow care plans precisely
• Maintain clear, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Foster a positive, dignified environment that promotes resident comfort and well-being

Qualifications

• Valid CNA certification (CNA or T-CNA) appropriate for New Mexico
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required by facility
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and performing physical patient care
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in personal care, positioning, and assistance with ADLs
• Knowledge of infection control and safe hygiene practices
• Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
• Familiarity with basic charting and electronic documentation systems
• Good observational skills to notice changes in patient status
• Teamwork and effective communication with interdisciplinary staff
