Roles & Responsibilities

• Start and manage IVs and peripheral/PICC line care with confidence
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Perform continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring and interpret dysrhythmias
• Respond on Rapid Response/Code teams and support emergency interventions
• Provide patient education on treatments and self-care to improve outcomes
• Document care accurately using EPIC EMR and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
• Manage chest tubes, oxygen therapy, and other specialty PCU interventions
• Float to lower-acuity units as needed while maintaining patient safety and standards

Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required)
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical acute care nursing experience
• BCLS (BLS) certification required; IV certification required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, multitasking, and teamwork skills
• Ability to float to other units within the organization when needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Knowledge & Skills

• PCU/Stepdown and med-surg nursing expertise
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, PICC management
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Chest tube management and oxygen administration (nasal cannula, other devices)
• Infection control, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use
• Proficient charting in EPIC EMR
• Strong clinical judgment, multitasking, and clear communication
