Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform and report accurate clinical laboratory testing across hematology, chemistry, and microbiology
• Collect and process patient specimens via phlebotomy with care and professionalism
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments while performing routine QC
• Review and validate test results and promptly communicate critical values to the care team
• Enter and manage patient and test data in Epic to ensure clean, auditable records
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab colleagues to support patient care decisions
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a compliant laboratory
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance workflow and patient service

Qualifications

• Active Montana CLS or MT licensure required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical laboratory experience (CLS/MT)
• Phlebotomy training required and demonstrated competency
• Experience with Epic (Laboratory Information System) required
• Microbiology experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to work in a team

• Clinical laboratory science principles and best practices
• Phlebotomy and proper specimen collection/handling
• Microbiology testing methods and specimen processing
• Laboratory information systems (Epic) for ordering and result reporting
• Quality control, instrument maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Regulatory compliance (safety, CLIA-like practices) and documentation
• Effective communication with clinical teams and patients
