Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate antepartum and postpartum care to mothers and newborns, ensuring safety and comfort
• Perform and interpret non-stress tests and monitor maternal/fetal status vigilantly
• Administer and manage IV therapies and drips such as insulin, magnesium, and heparin according to protocol
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
• Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech and CPN EMR systems to support continuity of care
• Advocate for patients and families, delivering clear communication and emotional support during transitions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential (eligible to practice in Texas preferred)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (antepartum/postpartum or related maternal-newborn experience preferred)
• Previous Labor & Delivery or Antepartum experience is a strong plus
• Experience with Meditech and/or CPN EMR systems preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Postpartum and antepartum nursing care and maternal-newborn assessment
• Conducting and interpreting non-stress tests
• IV therapy and drip management (magnesium, insulin, heparin)
• Familiarity with Meditech and CPN electronic medical records
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically 3:1 or 4:1 and adjust based on acuity
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education skills
