Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients requiring respiratory support, including ventilator management and weaning
• Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators (Servo I, GE, V60) and provide high-flow therapy (Airvo, Vapotherm)
• Perform neonatal/pediatric support when needed, following NRP or STABLE protocols
• Document patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to create and execute care plans
• Monitor patient response to respiratory interventions and adjust treatment for best outcomes
• Maintain and sanitize respiratory equipment and ensure readiness of supplies
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• NRP or STABLE certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ICU experience preferred; 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Familiarity with mechanical ventilation and high-flow therapy devices
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in mechanical ventilation settings and troubleshooting
• Experience with high-flow therapy and non-invasive ventilation
• Proficient in respiratory assessment and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Comfortable using Meditech for charting and orders
• Ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations and collaborate under pressure
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation protocols (NRP/STABLE) when applicable
