Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients promptly to prioritize care in a fast-paced ER
• Provide direct nursing care including medication administration and wound management
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret clinical data, and escalate changes
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up plans

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact license where applicable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous Emergency Room experience preferred, clinical comfort in high-acuity settings
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently on per diem shifts and adapt quickly to changing demands

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and state licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• Familiarity with IV therapy, meds, and emergency interventions
• Comfort with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy ER environment
• Teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered care approach
• Basic trauma and acute care knowledge
