Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU — monitor, assess, and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and titrate therapies safely and according to protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced monitoring and life support equipment
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and rapid changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and support staff — to coordinate care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and expectations with empathy and clarity
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with CAP and unit policies

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required upon submission
• Healthcare Provider Level AHA BLS required
• AHA ACLS required (GSR ICU-CCU)
• TNCC required (GSR ICU-CCU)
• PALS preferred
• Previous ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Verification of high school diploma or equivalent required due to College of American Pathologists (CAP) requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (verification required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
• Proficiency with medication administration and titration in critical care settings
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity team environment
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and the care team
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and quality improvement
