Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department
• Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care needs
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and timely
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team on care plans
• Monitor patient status and intervene promptly for changes
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the chart
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain a calm, professional presence during high-acuity situations

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred for emergency nursing
• Previous Emergency Room experience preferred; strong triage skills
• Comfortable with high-acuity patients, fast-paced decision making, and teamwork
• Current immunizations and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all qualified RN applicants are encouraged to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and emergency assessment skills
• IV placement, medication administration, and ACLS protocols
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring
• Strong clinical judgment and rapid prioritization
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Experience with electronic health records and clear documentation
