Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-focused daily care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and toileting while promoting dignity
• Observe, record, and report changes in residents' physical or mental condition to the nursing team
• Support the implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with nurses and caregivers
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and help prevent falls and infections
• Communicate warmly and professionally with residents' families and team members to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent in the practicing state
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a caring bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required or preferred depending on state requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and age-related conditions
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Infection control and proper use of PPE
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
• Teamwork, adaptability, and compassionate interpersonal skills
