Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled OT assistance to clients under the supervision of the OT, focusing on functional independence and meaningful activities
• Deliver individualized treatment plans and adapt interventions to meet patient goals
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), therapeutic exercises, and adaptive equipment training
• Document patient progress and communicate outcomes clearly with the care team
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and family members to ensure continuity of care
• Contribute to a patient-centered environment that promotes dignity and recovery

Qualifications

• Current COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant) — required
• State authorization or licensure to practice in California, as applicable
• Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills; patient-focused attitude
• Previous experience in rehab, skilled nursing, or long-term care is a plus

Education

• Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (typically an Associate degree)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of OT principles and therapeutic modalities for adult rehabilitation
• Skilled in ADL training, adaptive equipment, and mobility support
• Accurate clinical documentation and effective care-team communication
• Ability to assess functional status and implement goal-driven interventions
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary rehab environment
