Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered bedside care with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility: transfers, positioning, and fall-prevention practices
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any clinical changes promptly
• Document care accurately and communicate effectively with the care team
• Maintain infection control standards and a clean, safe environment
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or state equivalent
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or with geriatric populations is a plus
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to per diem scheduling
• Strong communication skills, patience, and a team-oriented attitude

Education

• GNA certification required; High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and respect for resident dignity
• Basic nursing assistant skills: bathing, feeding, toileting, and transfers
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and observations
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills
