Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic (TTE) and transesophageal (TEE) echocardiograms to support accurate cardiac diagnosis
• Conduct exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography, including contrast and bubbles studies, following protocol and safety guidelines
• Operate and maintain ultrasound systems (Philips EPIC, Philips CX50, Siemens ACUSON SC2000, Siemens Origin) and ensure proper image documentation
• Adapt scanning techniques for a range of patients and settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, the ER and the cath lab
• Communicate findings and collaborate with cardiology teams and other providers to facilitate timely patient care
• Provide compassionate patient interaction and education before, during, and after procedures
• Accurately document studies in EMR systems (Athena, Meditech, PICOM) and maintain credentialing records

Qualifications

• RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) required
• Current AHA BLS certification required (AHA BLS skills sheet requested)
• CVCCI or ARDMS credential required with submission of documentation
• Proven experience with TTE, TEE, contrast (Optison/Definity) and bubbles studies
• Experience with exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiography
• Comfortable working across multiple clinical settings (inpatient, outpatient, ER, cath lab)
• Experience with Philips EPIC, Philips CX50, Siemens ACUSON SC2000, Siemens Origin and EMRs (Athena, Meditech, PICOM) preferred
• Left-handed scanner preferred; pediatric TTE experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-player mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to adapt scanning approach for pediatrics and special patient needs
