Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality CT and X-ray imaging procedures following departmental protocols and radiologist direction.
• Practice radiation safety and ALARA principles to protect patients and staff.
• Perform and document equipment quality control and troubleshooting; notify management of equipment downtime.
• Obtain informed consent and relevant medical history; verify patient identity using two forms of ID and provide exam education.
• Coordinate with Radiology and Health Information Management by submitting completed orders and imaging paperwork.
• Assist with clerical duties, patient transportation, and training or cross-training of imaging staff as needed.
• Notify the radiologist immediately for STAT or emergent cases and provide ordering physician contact information.
• Maintain supply inventory, order supplies, and support continuous performance improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., able to pass background check and drug screen.
• Registered in at least two imaging modalities OR eligible to obtain two registries within one year of hire (examples: ARRT Radiology (R) plus CT, MR, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine; ARDMS RDMS/RVT/RDCS/RMSKS; NMTCB).
• Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Prior experience as a practicing technologist in relevant modalities preferred (2 years preferred).
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment, handle on-call and overtime when requested, and adapt schedule for coverage needs.

Education

• Hold ARRT registry in Radiology (R) and at least one additional registry (or be eligible to obtain required registries within 1 year).
• BLS certification required within 90 days.

Knowledge & Skills

• Competent in CT and X-ray imaging techniques, radiologic imaging fundamentals, and radiation safety (ALARA).
• Familiar with PACS, RIS, HIS and electronic medical records; basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Skilled in patient education, patient identification, informed consent, and documentation.
• Able to perform equipment QC, basic troubleshooting, and follow manufacturer recommendations for operation and maintenance.
• Strong communication, infection control practices, time management, and teamwork abilities.
